Our Story
Great fish shouldn’t require a coastline.
We’re a long way from the nearest tide — and that’s exactly the point. Somewhere along the way, Texas got every kind of fast food except the one worth craving: fresh, hand-breaded cod, fried crisp and served right. Not frozen. Not greasy. Not an afterthought under a heat lamp.
Coast & Crisp exists to close that gap — to bring the feeling of a coastal fish shack to the Hill Country, fast enough for a weeknight and good enough to remember.
Our Story
It started with a craving and nowhere to take it.
Around Bulverde and Stone Oak, you could find a dozen chicken joints and not one place doing fish the way it deserved. So we stopped waiting for someone else to build it.
We chose cod — clean, flaky, honest. We bread it by hand, one batch at a time, the way the good coastal spots still do. We make the lemonade and the tea in-house, shape the dessert like Texas, and built a room that feels bright and easy — like the shore on a good day.
No shortcuts. No frozen mystery fish. Just one thing done properly:
Crisp. Fresh. Served Right.
Opening July 14, 2026. We’d love to feed you.

A note from Ray & McKenzie
We live in a world that moves too fast to keep up with — fast enough that we stopped slowing down for our meals. We stopped taking time to enjoy each other’s company, to enjoy being taken care of, and to enjoy the simple act of serving someone a good plate of food.
There’s a happiness that comes from sharing food made with love — on both sides of the counter. A connection. A little vulnerability. A friendship. Restaurants used to be where that happened, where community was built. We’re going to bring that back.
But there’s a second reason we chose fish — and it’s personal.
A few years ago, McKenzie was diagnosed with PCOS. She started paying closer attention to what she ate, and discovered how much better she felt with lean, clean protein on her plate. Cod became a go-to — high in protein, low in fat, light, and full of the good your body actually wants. The hard part was never the why. It was finding it: fresh fish was either expensive, far from home, or buried under a menu of fried everything.
So we made it the whole point.
Coast & Crisp is our answer — food you can crave and feel good about. Fresh cod, hand-breaded, served crisp. Proof that fast doesn’t have to mean junk, and good-for-you doesn’t have to mean boring. You shouldn’t have to choose.
We’re not recreating old ideas. We’re preserving the good things of this world and making them better — for our community, and for our family.
Hope to see you soon.
